Diversity

The JCC first established a Diversity Department back in the late 1990s. Since then we have worked with many school districts, businesses, and other organizations throughout the county, providing training intended to break down walls of misunderstanding and ignorance, and to reduce prejudice, discrimination, and violence. We have partnered with diversity committees and leadership training organizations to bring about positive changes in attitudes, behavior, and knowledge in students, teachers, as well as business and governmental leaders.

The JCC now aims to further our efforts to provide a brave space for participants to learn about perspectives different from their own through interactive training and authentic dialogue. Such interactive programs will build community connection by increasing empathy and understanding across apparent barriers of difference.
