Jewish Youth, Teen & Family

Family Programs

Think back to your youth. Is there a place or time that immediately evokes great memories and still puts a smile on your face? A place where you made friends, and probably without realizing it, learned some of life’s most valuable lessons? For those who participate in our teen, youth, and family programs, the JCC is that place.

The York JCC’s Cultural Department is committed to strengthening and preserving Jewish culture and to providing a home for Jewish life in York. Through a variety of activities, events, and celebrations, the JCC’s Cultural Department provides focus, resources, and programming in an environment that is welcome to all and provides opportunities that foster our community’s teens, youth, and their families as they grow.

We love to celebrate families and bring families together to celebrate each other! JFamily develops programs to help children and the adults in their lives make strong connections with each other, with the JCC, and with Jewish life.

Would you enjoy meeting other Jewish 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from York while doing fun things like ice skating and rock climbing? Well, then look no further! Chaverim is the group for you! A community-wide Jewish youth group, Chaverim members participate in a wide variety of social, recreational, educational, and community service programs throughout the year.

Open to all Jewish teens in grades 9 through 12, BBYO is the largest Jewish youth organization in the world. BBYO provides opportunities for Jewish youth to explore their Jewish identity, develop leadership skills, and create lasting friendships. York’s BBYO chapter is known as Morton B. Krechmer and meets regularly for meetings, Tzedakah projects, local activities, and regional conventions.

BBYO is anything and everything you want it to be. At BBYO, you can socialize with other Jewish teens from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York, lead a chapter, volunteer in our community, enjoy the outdoors, play sports, learn more about your Jewish heritage, and so much more!

Contact our Youth & Family Coordinator if you have any questions, would like to volunteer, or join any Jewish youth programs.
