York County’s Jewish organizations will hold a peace vigil at the York Jewish Community Center on Thursday, October 12 at 7 PM.

The Jewish community of York, which includes the Congregation Ohev Sholom, the Gordon Center for Jewish Student Life, the Jewish Community Center of York, and Temple Beth Israel, stands in total and complete solidarity with all who are affected by these terrorist attacks.

York, Pennsylvania’s Jewish community is shocked and distressed by the surprise attack this past weekend on the State of Israel by Hamas terrorists. Like the Yom Kippur War, which occurred 50 years ago, this barbaric attack occurred on an important Jewish holy day.  As we look back on this grim milestone, we are once again called upon to stand with Israel in the face of an unfolding crisis.

“A Jew prays for peace three times every day. That is how important peace is. Our hearts go out to the people of Israel who face an unprecedented assault on their safety and well-being,” said Rabbi Melody Davis.

Please join Jewish and non-Jewish clergy, local officials, and community members for a Peace Vigil.
