Improve your game and learn new skills! This camp stresses individual and group play. A focus will be placed on developing the player’s technical ability as well as tactical awareness. Camp is being taught by top quality coaches who have a vested interest in York County soccer. Camp will emphasize fundamentals, decision making, and skill development in an enjoyable environment.

Nontraditional Games

Come join the fun with these interactive games that aren’t mainstream sports such as, kickball, Can Jam, ladder ball, and frisbee! Incorporating non-traditional sports into physical education exposes students to entirely new possibilities for physical activity. It expands their horizons and shows them there are many ways they can stay healthy and active that they might not have considered previously, and that they will enjoy much more. Each day 1-2 new games will be taught.

Lacrosse Fundamentals

Participants will focus on learning lacrosse fundamentals, decision-making, and skill development, through group play and tactical skills. In this camp, the four fundamentals of lacrosse will be explored: cradling, throwing, catching, and scooping ground balls. Participants will be paired by skill level.

Competitive Edge

Train with fellow athletes to improve strength, endurance, and agility. Competitive Edge includes 30 minutes of strength training with kettlebells and dumbbells, and 30 minutes of agility and endurance training with cones drills and ladders. This well-rounded athletic performance training will increase the duration and strength of athletes’ performance in their current sport. Participants will be paired by skill level.

Combine Pokemon with exercise in the station-based Pokemon Gym Training Camp! Participants will be led through exercise stations and activities where they will engage in a variety of movements. Campers will apply problem-solving skills to solve mysteries. This is a perfect combination of sports, tumbling and yoga time! First half of camp is designed to focus on sports fundamentals and gross motor skills followed by practicing tumble skills such as forward and backward rolls, balancing skills, and the early stages of a developing kart wheel movement using a variety of age appropriate tumbling equipment. Campers will finish with children’s yoga to experience relaxation through storytelling and poses.
