Lori Tenenbaum began her Jewish communal career as a teacher at the Syracuse Hebrew Day School in Syracuse, New York. Over the course of seventeen years, Lori became the Assistant Head of School, then ultimately the Chief Executive Officer and Head of School at SHDS in 2014. She received her Bachelor’s degree in education at Elmira College, and attended the Day School Leadership Training Institute at the Jewish Theological Seminary in Manhattan.
Most recently, Lori has served as the Executive Director of Free Science, Inc. and Acting Director of the Global Alliance of Community Science Workshops. Both organizations are part of a movement of Community Science Workshops that provide community-based spaces and mobile outreach to provide equity in access to science education and engagement to underserved youth. Lori is excited to make York her home and be part of the York JCC community!
