Fitness Center Coordinator

Part-Time/Full-Time: Preferred BS in Health and Fitness related field, Current CPR/AED Certification, First Aid (preferred, but not required),  Sales Experience preferred, and must be proficient in Microsoft.

Position Overview: Support the growth of the Fitness Center and Personal Training Team through Onboarding, tracking, payroll, scheduling and reporting needs of the Fitness Department. This role will also be in charge of internal and external Fitness Center communication and the maintenance and ordering of fitness equipment.

Personal Trainer: Career Professional

Graphic Design Intern

Part-Time: At least 10 hours per week for a semester

Position Overview: Calling all innovative, detail-oriented graphic design or marketing students ready to build their portfolios! We are seeking a Graphic Design Intern that is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have the creative freedom to work your design skills while incorporating the York JCC brand.

This position is what you make it! Collaborate with all York JCC departments and the Media & Marketing Manager to create beautiful and edgy pieces for this wonderful non-profit. Plus, you’ll get a free membership during your internship!

You’ll work in the Marketing Department under the Media & Marketing Manager and should be able to attend weekly staff meetings. This can be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities:

• Produce social media advertisements
• Create imagery for social media posts
• Generate infographics for the York JCC blog
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Design brilliant flyers and other marketing promotions for events and programs
• Craft monthly newsletter and email blasts
• Create print and digital advertisements
• Support agency self-promotion

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
• Knowledge of video editing software such as Premier Pro
• Knowledge of social media Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, blogs, etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Energy with a desire to come up with fresh ideas and creating content to get the community interested

Kitchen Assistant

Part-Time: 11AM-3PM, Monday-Friday

Position Overview:

  • Lunch and snack preparing and portioning as well as delivering to child care classrooms
  • Daily cleaning of work space
  • Assistance to the dishwasher in retrieval of food and dish carts

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma

Birthday Party Instructor: Part-Time

Part-time: Weekends and other times available.

Position Overview: Seeking a dedicated, energetic and creative individual who has experience instructing birthday parties or teaching a variety of youth sports and fitness classes.  Must be able to work well with children and be knowledgeable in the field of youth fitness, sports and movement to design, supervise and teach themed birthday parties.

Qualifications: Must have a high school degree or equivalency with a minimum of three years’ work experience teaching birthday parties, youth sports or fitness classes in a professional setting.

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

Part-Time: 20-25 hours/week in afternoons.

Position Overview: Seeking individuals with an educational background in early childhood education to work with children 3 to 5 years old. Must have good communication skills, be self-motivated, energetic, and possess a commitment to child and family development; be able to plan activities, actively supervise children and actively engage children in play.

Fitness Center Floor Staff

Part-Time: 15-20 hours per week. Must be available to work morning (5-9 am) or afternoon (12-4 pm, 3:30-6:30 pm) hours and be on a weekend rotation.

Position Overview: Assist members in achieving their goals when utilizing the fitness center. Responsible for monitoring the Fitness Center and all of the participants. Must be able to learn and demonstrate proper use of all weight and cardio machines and be able to provide assistance and be able to provide assistance when needed. Additional responsibilities include completion of daily cleaning duties, tracking fitness center attendance, answering phone calls, maintaining knowledge of other JCC programs and attending all required staff meetings.

Requirements: High school diploma, excellent customer service skills, basic knowledge of exercises and workout equipment, basic computer experience and a current CPR/AED certification.

School Age Child Care: Assistant Group Supervisors (Positions available at 2 locations)

Lifeguard

Part-Time: Evenings (4-9:30 PM) Weekends

Overview: This position, under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, has the responsibilities of maintaining order in the Natatorium by preventing accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of members and guests. Additional responsibilities include monitoring the facilities for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid, and all other duties as necessary or required.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification must be current and maintained
  • CPR for the professional rescuer, first aid and AED certification must be current and maintained
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to swim a minimum of 300 yards continuously at all times.
  • Must be able to perform any rescue skill required by certifying organization.
