Fitness Center and Personal Training Manager

Part-Time/Full-Time: Preferred BS in Health and Fitness related field, Current CPR/AED Certification, First Aid (preferred, but not required), Personal Training Certification or degree equivalent, Sales Experience preferred, Practical Experience in the field (minimum of 6 months’ experience in the Fitness Industry and as a Personal Trainer and Manager), and must be proficient in Microsoft.

Position Overview: The Fitness Center and Personal Training Manager will support the growth of the Fitness Center and Personal Training Team through Onboarding, tracking, payroll, scheduling and reporting needs of the Fitness Department. This role will also be in charge of internal and external Fitness Center communication and the maintenance and ordering of fitness equipment. In addition to management hours, the manager will be active in Personal Training, Small Group Training and working in the Fitness Center. Reports to the Fitness Director.

Housekeeping / Custodial

Full-Time: 40 hours/week. 2nd shift Sunday 2pm-9:30pm Wednesday/Thursday 4p-12:30am Friday 2:30pm-12:30am Sat 12pm-8pm

Position Overview: Seeking a motivated person who takes pride in cleanliness and customer service to join our housekeeping team. This position will be responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the facility including but not limited to carpet and floor care, trash removal, dusting, window washing, and ensuring the security of the building entrances.

Cafe Manager

Full-Time: 40 hours/week

Position Overview: The Café Manager is responsible for building and leading a café team that shares a common passion to provide the best quality coffee, pastries, food and delightful experiences to all of the York JCC members.

Qualifications: Retail/Hospitality experience: 4 years Barista: 2 years Cafe management: 2 years, preferred/not required Ability to work full time (the work regularly demands 40 hours per week) including variable hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends and / or holidays Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills Passionate about Coffee/Food and believes in outstanding customer experience Must have effective problem solving/decision making abilities and customer service skills Proficient (or willing to learn) using an iPad and point of sale software; training will be provided Authorized and eligible to work in United States

Maintenance

Full-Time: 40 hours/week

Position Overview: Responsibilities include building and grounds maintenance, complete set-up/tear-down of rentals, and performance of general housekeeping duties.

Youth Fitness Assistant

Full-time: Schedule varies seasonally 40 hours a week.

Position Overview: Seeking a dedicated, energetic and creative individual who has experience teaching a variety of youth sports and fitness classes.  Must be able to work well with children and be knowledgeable in the field of child development, youth fitness, physical literacy and physical education.

Qualifications: Must have a college degree in physical education, parks and recreation, child development or equivalency with a minimum of three years’ work experience teaching PE, youth sports and fitness classes in a professional setting.

Personal Trainer: Career Professional

Part-Time/Full-Time: Growth opportunities, flexible hours. Ideal candidate would have 1+ years experience of personal training, a nationally recognized personal training certification,and a current CPR/AED certification. Feeder system and mentor program to fast track trainers and build their clientele.

Position Overview: Assess and prescribe exercise based on individual fitness goals, limitations and capabilities. Take initiative in enrolling current and potential members into our training program. Guide new members through the onboarding programs.

Housekeeper

Part-Time: 10-25 hours/week. 7:30 PM – 12:30 AM

Position Overview: Ensure that the entire building is clean and ready to be re-opened in the morning.

Qualifications: Must be able to lift 30 lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Front Desk Shift Supervisor

Part-Time: 3 weekends/month, plus additional shifts to equal 28 hours/week

Position Overview: Responsible for managing front desk staff according to policies and procedures in the absence of Front Desk Supervisor. Provide outstanding customer service to everyone including members, guests and staff. Will be the point person in emergency situations in the absence of management. Supervisor as needed including feedback and direction to service associates.

Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED, Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and 1-2 years in similar position.

Birthday Party Instructor: Part-Time

Part-time: Weekends and other times available.

Position Overview: Seeking a dedicated, energetic and creative individual who has experience instructing birthday parties or teaching a variety of youth sports and fitness classes.  Must be able to work well with children and be knowledgeable in the field of youth fitness, sports and movement to design, supervise and teach themed birthday parties.

Qualifications: Must have a high school degree or equivalency with a minimum of three years’ work experience teaching birthday parties, youth sports or fitness classes in a professional setting.

Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

Part-Time: 20-25 hours/week in afternoons.

Position Overview: Seeking individuals with an educational background in early childhood education to work with children 3 to 5 years old. Must have good communication skills, be self-motivated, energetic, and possess a commitment to child and family development; be able to plan activities, actively supervise children and actively engage children in play.

Requirements: Must have an Associates Degree or higher with at least 3 years’ experience working with young children. Teaching in other high quality ECE settings is valued. Competitive wages based on qualifications and experience.

Silver Sneakers and Silver & Fit Group Fitness Instructors

Group Fitness Instructors

Part-Time: Seeking an exceptional, engaging Freestyle or Les Mills qualified instructor. Les Mills: BodyFlowBodyPump, BodyCompat, CXWorks, BodyFlow, BodyAttack, RPM, Sprint, and Grit. Looking for all times of day, evening and weekend instructors. Part-time or sub status.

Requirements: Candidate must have a current CPR/AED (First Aid suggested) certification. Current Les Mills certification and/or Group Fitness Certification from a national organization.

Fitness Center Floor Staff

Part-Time: 15-20 hours per week. Must be available to work morning (5-9 am) or afternoon (12-4 pm, 3:30-6:30 pm) hours and be on a weekend rotation.

Position Overview: Assist members in achieving their goals when utilizing the fitness center. Responsible for monitoring the Fitness Center and all of the participants. Must be able to learn and demonstrate proper use of all weight and cardio machines and be able to provide assistance and be able to provide assistance when needed. Additional responsibilities include completion of daily cleaning duties, tracking fitness center attendance, answering phone calls, maintaining knowledge of other JCC programs and attending all required staff meetings.

Requirements: High school diploma, excellent customer service skills, basic knowledge of exercises and workout equipment, basic computer experience and a current CPR/AED certification.

School Age Child Care: Assistant Group Supervisors (Positions available at 2 locations)

Part-Time: Weekdays through the school year between 6 to 8:30 AM and/or afternoons 3-6 PM. Days and times are some what flexible.

  • Location #1 JCC [3 Positions]
  • Location #2 YARCS (York Academy Regional Charter School) [1 position]

Position Overview: Provide care and guidance for children ages 6 to 12. Work collaboratively with childcare team to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.

Requirements: 30+ College credits in early childhood education or related field or 15 College credits in early childhood education or related field plus 1250 hour of work experience with children. or 2500 hours of work experience.
