ADMINISTRATION

Network Administration

Part-Time: 20 – 25 Hours per Week

Position Overview:

  • Configure, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade computer hardware, software, computer networks and peripherals
  • Administer a complete LAN environment
  • Identify and solve any problems that arise with computer and network systems
  • Provide routine training and guidance to users on email and network usage
  • Maintain updated documentation of network information
  • Research and recommend new technologies
  • Windows Server Administration to include Active Directory
  • Develop and implement procedures within the organization and update documentation yearly to stay PCI compliant
  • Manage and work with external vendors and IT support personnel when needed
  • Maintain a Seneca XVault camera server and troubleshoot connection issues
  • Positively and actively promote the JCC’s mission, membership, programs, events, and charitable purpose to JCC members and the general public

CHILD CARE DEPARTMENT

Lead Teacher

Full-Time: 40 Hours/Week at Main Branch

Position Overview:

The Early Childhood Head Teacher will provide leadership for the classroom team to maintain the quality of the JCC’s Early Childhood Program, provide excellent care and education for children and build strong collaborations with families.

Location: Gan Tamar Campus: 2000 Hollywood Drive, York, PA 17403

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Associate Director / Director in the supervision of staff members on your teaching team.
  • Arrange regular meetings for your teaching team.
  • Provide a nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.
  • Meet NAEYC and Keystone STARS* standards.
  • Adhere to the standards outlined in the JCC Early Childhood Program Handbook for:
  • Following DHS regulations
  • Communicating with families
  • Care of facility and equipment
  • Record keeping
  • Curriculum
  • Health and safety procedures
  • Teamwork, including regular attendance of staff meetings
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements:

  • B.A. degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, special education, psychology, or the human services field
  • Three to four years of teaching experience
  • Vision
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of child caregiving
  • PA certified in Early Childhood Education

Assistant Teacher

Full-Time: 40 Hours/Week at Main Branch
Part-Time: 20-25 Hours/Week at Jacobus Branch and at Main Branch

Position Overview:

The principle duties of the Assistant Teacher include collaborating with the Head Teacher to develop weekly curricular plans; cooperating with home base team to implement and evaluate classroom activities; overseeing the physical well-being of the children; maintenance of the classroom, classroom materials and equipment; and contributing to the overall operation of the Early Childhood Program.

School-Age Child Care: Assistant Classroom Leader

Part-Time: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM; 29 Hours per Week; Days and Time are Flexible

Locations: York JCC and DAIS

Position Overview:

Provide care and guidance for children ages 6 to 12. Work collaboratively with the childcare team to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.

Requirements:

30+ College credits in early childhood education or related field or 15 College credits in early childhood education or related field plus 1250 hour of work experience with children or 2500 hours of work experience.

Preschool Assistant Teacher/Teacher Aide

Part-Time: 8:30 – 11:30 AM or 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Position Overview:

Seeking individuals with an educational background in early childhood education to work with children 4 to 5 years old. Must have good communication skills, be self-motivated, energetic, and possess a commitment to child and family development; be able to plan activities, actively supervise children and actively engage children in play.

Babysitting Room Caregiver

Part-Time: 8 Hours per Week; Saturday, 7:45 AM – 12:00 PM and Sunday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Position Overview:

We are looking for a person who:

  • Had excellent customer service skills
  • Is punctual
  • Is able to provide care, guidance and direct children from 2 months of age up to 11 years of age
  • Enjoys interacting with children such as reading, games play, and other socializations
  • Is able to feed, change diapers
  • Has good visions
  • Can lift and carry a child up to 50 pounds
  • Performs upkeep, cleaning toys, and equipment in the room

  • High School diploma or higher

AQUATICS DEPARTMENT

Lifeguards

Part-Time: Varying shifts available

Position Overview:

This position, under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, has the responsibility of maintaining order in the Natatorium by preventing accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of members and guests. Additional responsibilities include monitoring the facilities for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid, and all other duties as necessary or required.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age

  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification must be current and maintained

  • CPR for the professional rescuer, first aid and AED certification must be current and maintained

Swim Lesson Instructors (WSI)

Part-Time: Varying shifts available

Position Overview:

Teach the different levels according to the AMR, provide a safe and positive learning environment for students. Give corrective feedback on skills for each level of swimming.

  • Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred thru the American Red Cross but not mandatory

FITNESS DEPARTMENT

Group Fitness Manager

Part-Time: 29 hours per week

Position Overview:

The Group Fitness Manager is responsible for the supervision and maintenance of the daily operation of the Group Exercise department.

  • Be committed to the maintenance and growth of the Group Fitness Department. This includes, but is not limited to; program planning, implementation, enforcement of rules and regulations, and maintaining the overall smooth and consistent functioning of this department.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Mentor Education Program for group fitness instructors.
  • Recruit, hire, retain, and develop a premier instructor team.
  • Foster professional standards among all instructors and members.
  • Maintain tracking records for equipment and attendance.
  • Be an integral part in the growth Group Exercise programming.
  • Work with Marketing Director to promote programs and activities.
  • Prepare statistics and reports on the Group Fitness Department as requested by the Fitness Director.
  • Complete weekly payroll for Group Fitness Employees.
  • Supervise the care and purchase of the group fitness equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain staff Group Fitness and Safety Certifications.
  • Available and able to substitute classes if needed.
  • Maintain around 10 Management hours per week. Hourly requirements are subject to change.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ instructor experience
  • Have 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, computer skills
  • Have and maintain a nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor certification
  • CPR/AED certification must be current and maintained
  • First Aid certification is recommended
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Must be able to perform all skills you are scheduled to teach

Group Fitness Instructors (Specialty, Les Mills, Yoga, Pilates)

Part-Time: Various shifts available

Position Overview:

This position under the direction of the Group Fitness Manager is responsible for conducting safe, effective, creative, and enjoyable exercise classes by providing excellent leadership, quality instruction, and high energy motivation.

  • Complete one-hour in-house training with Group Fitness Manager
  • Instructors are responsible for the purchase of their own music, quarterly releases and/or other continuing education
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to class, prepared to begin and end class on time. Responsible for own class coverage when unavailable to teach and must communicate this coverage with Group Fitness Manager.
  • Greet members warmly, enthusiastically, maintaining an atmosphere that motivates long-term participation and member retention.
  • Educate participants on proper form, anatomy, training principles and modification of moves.
  • Instructor will assure and be accountable for accurate class attendance recordings.
  • Instructor will put the safety and needs of the class first and maintain a positive exercise experience for the participants.
  • Instructor must clock in and out for every class on ADP
  • Instructor must actively communicate with the Group Fitness Manger via email, text, or phone.
  • Instructor will keep the studios clean and tidy and following the cleaning instructions for the particular class they are teaching.
  • Instructor will keep the storage closets tidy and the equipment will be organized and placed away neatly and safely.
  • Instructor must maintain proper use and care of all instructor equipment including mics, music, stereo equipment and cables.
  • Educate themselves to learn how to live stream classes and where to find log ins as well as the set up for the cameras if needed in class.
  • Instructor will report any damaged or broken equipment to the Group Fitness Manager in a timely manner.
  • Must be dressed appropriately for class format and demonstrate role model technique
  • Attend all  fitness department meetings

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have successfully completed the specialty certification required for the class. This includes having successfully completed all specialty certification course requirements and show proof of the certification completion by a nationally recognized organization.
  • Candidate must also hold a current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid. Certifications include all Les Mills programs, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Zumba, and other formats as approved by Group Fitness Manager.
  • Instructors who have completed any Les Mills initial training may only team teach until video is submitted and proof of a “pass” score is approved.
  • Zumba instructors must remain in active status on the Zumba network
  • Instructor must demonstrate a higher level of instructor knowledge and continuing education.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Physically fit to lead class at the appropriate level and with role model presentation
  • Must be able to perform all skills you are scheduled to teach
