DEVELOPMENT

Development Director

Overview: Responsible for the management and implementation of all activities relating to fundraising, donor management, marketing, and events to support the York JCC’s operating budget.

General Responsibilities:

  • Leverage the time of the CAO and take the lead on managing or supporting all donor relationships and stewardship, including grant writing, the generation of proposals and reports, tracking, database management, and prospect research and cultivation.
  • Serve as a lead staff position in the research, development, implementation, and review of a thorough fundraising program including annual and other fundraising campaigns, grant writing, and programs to promote the charitable purpose of the York JCC.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate an annual plan for community support including an emphasis on understanding the JCC’s charitable purpose through the following but not limited to:
  • Grant research and writing
  • Corporate sponsorships and support
  • Annual Campaign
  • Year-end giving
  • Planned giving
  • Endowment development and growth
  • Special events
  • Provide support to the Fund Development and Event Planning Committees and lead efforts to involve, educate and motivate Board members in the JCC’s fundraising and solicitation efforts.
  • Cultivate, manage, steward, and track relationships with all donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies; leverage the CAO’s time in cultivating high-potential donors and prospects.
  • Work with Department Directors to develop, expand and refine cases for support, supporting materials, and strategy.
  • Identify and follow through on grant and public funding opportunities. Provide the internal coordination of grant spending and reporting.
  • Prepare and implement all donor correspondence, proposals, grants, reports, mailings, and acknowledgments required to support ongoing fundraising activities.
  • Generate and provide detailed reports about fundraising progress to the CAO on a regular basis.
  • Lead team to apply for and secure allocation requests from United Way.
  • Identify and work with the Fund development committee to develop/implement new and effective fundraising concepts.
  • Provide the internal coordination of fundraising tracking and assessment of goal achievement.
  • Manage in a fiscally sound manner and work to meet/exceed budget for the development department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Five or more years in a senior management position, or like experience with demonstrated positive operational results.
  • Fundraising and event planning experience in establishing and managing sponsors and donors is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated success in a business development function preferred.
  • Experience developing and cultivating corporate and foundation relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically and effectively with volunteers, donors, and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills with demonstrated success in grant and proposal writing.
  • A professional and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Proficient computer and software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.), including development database applications.

Digital Marketing Specialist

Overview: The digital marketing specialist is responsible for creating material for various media platforms such as the web, social media, and website. The digital marketing specialist will also work in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager to assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of ROI for all integrated media marketing campaigns.

Hours: Part-Time/ 20+ hours/week

General Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager to develop a strategy for integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Designing integrated marketing materials including print and digital advertisements, newsletter, email, social media, outdoor and video using appropriate graphic design or video editing software programs.
  • Scheduling and placement of content on digital media platforms.
  • Improving the brand’s awareness using digital media channels such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Writing content for search engine optimization.
  • Ensuring brand consistency across all digital media channels.
  • Keeping the online media library up-to-date.
  • Monitoring impact and return on investment of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Remaining up-to-date with the latest digital media trends and design technology available.

Minimum Educational/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in digital marketing.
  • Solid knowledge of design and editing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Video Editing Programs
  • Knowledge of web design and content management systems.
  • Experience with web analytic tools such as Google Ads and Google Campaign Manager.
  • Familiarity with paid social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Knowledge of the latest integrated media trends.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Basic budgeting skills to reconcile paid digital media placements with the available budget.

ADMINISTRATION

Diversity Manager

Overview:  The Diversity Manager will provide strategic direction and leadership for the quality, retention, and growth of JCC diversity education programs.  

Minimum Educational/Experience:

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Relations, Business, Marketing, Management or similar subject and five years’ experience in the related field.
  • OR
  • Candidate must have 7 years of professional education and experience in the areas of marketing, program development, presenting, facilitation, and management and knowledge/experience in the following key areas:
  • Relationship building, communications, workshop development, and delivery, bias-awareness/prejudice reduction training, adult and youth training, budgeting, strategic planning, program development and planning, and collaborations/partnerships.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, written/oral presentation skills, and communication skills; enthusiasm/passion for work, and the ability to think “visionary” and “out of the box”.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Direct the JCC’s Diversity Education Department
  • Market, sell, present, and assess the quality of JCC’s diversity education menu of services.
  • Research, and develop new diversity programs as appropriate to meet the needs of schools, businesses, and organizations, or to address specific diversity issues 
  • Define opportunities for collaborations and partnerships within the community to support the JCC’s diversity efforts as applicable
  • Research, develop and implement supplemental funding opportunities for diversity education programs (e.g. Diversity Bag Lunch Sale)
  • Work with the PRTF to accomplish the task force’s strategic plan objectives
  • Write and plan for PRTF newsletter articles
  • Serves on the York Inter-Agency Task Force on Civil Tension, and York County Community Against Racism committees; attends community diversity events.
  • Maintain diversity education procedures and training manuals
  • Create and maintain annual diversity budget; operate in a fiscally sound manner.
  • Attend and participate in JCC board and staff meetings
  • Be an integral member of the management team.
  • Direct administration staff for diversity support

Community Engagement Team Member

Overview:
You are a key person in providing front-line customer service to our members and potential members, upholding the York JCC Mission and Core Values, and generating membership sales.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Basic Math Skills
  • Computer Experience

General Responsibilities: 

  • Direct sales, processing member applications, upgrades, downgrades, and cancelations
  • Serve as a key staff person to conduct tours with prospective members, which includes a sales component to convert visitors into members
  • Assist with daily retention calls, renewals, and documentation of member requests
  • Providing front line security by greeting members, ensuring all scans are valid, guests are checked in properly and all entering members are directed to the correct areas
  • Answering phones, transferring calls, and taking and disseminating messages
  • Quick and accurate data entry of all program registrations and receipts
  • Accurately maintaining records and balancing of all monies received and disbursed
  • Supporting staff by cross-selling programs, answering questions, and running rosters
  • Being a liaison between membership and staff
  • Assisting with training and coverage of fellow CET members
  • Attending monthly departmental meetings

Community Engagement Team Shift Supervisor

Overview:  The Community Engagement Team Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing front desk staff according to policies and procedures in the absence of the Community Engagement Team Manager. Provide outstanding customer service to everyone including members, guests and staff.  Will be the point person in emergency situations in the absence of the Community Engagement Manager and Membership Director. Supervisor as needed including feedback and direction to service associates.

Minimum Experience:

  • High School Diploma; Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Basic Computer Skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 3-4 years’ experience in customer service or sales position
  • 1-2 years’ experience in supervisory role

General Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as supervisor on duty, in the absence of CET Manager and Membership Director
  • Required 3 weekends per month and additional needed shifts during the week.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations according to York JCC policy and procedure in the absence of management
  • Accountable for all monies received and maintaining cash drawer
  • Answering phones, completing registrations, conducting tours, make copies, run rosters, “sell” programs closing sales
  • Efficiently handling inquires and requests of members, guests and staff
  • Professional and respectful behavior to all staff and membership
  • Assist in planning and scheduling Front Desk staff meetings, schedules, and reviews
  • Reporting to Community Engagement Manager for member service and covering absences on schedule
  • Assist in training associates with accurate programing information, updated policies, procedures and accurate reporting
  • Keep front desk inventory up to date with forms and supplies
  • Maintaining accountability of associates during supervisor shift

AQUATICS

Swim Lesson Instructors (WSI)

Part-Time: Varying shifts available

Position Overview:

Teach the different levels according to the AMR, provide a safe and positive learning environment for students. Give corrective feedback on skills for each level of swimming.

Requirements:

  • Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred thru the American Red Cross but is not mandatory

Water Fitness Instructor

Part-Time: Varying shifts available

Position Overview:

Monitoring, educate patrons on fitness and safety and maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants

Lifeguard

Overview:  This position, under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, has the responsibilities of maintaining order in the Natatorium by preventing accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of members and guests. Additional responsibilities include monitoring the facilities for potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid, and all other duties as necessary or required.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification must be current and maintained.
  • CPR for the professional rescuer, first aid, and AED certification must be current and maintained.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe environment for all participants.
  • Communicate and enforce all regulations and pool rules in a personable and professional manner.
  • Assist swimmers in and out of the pool when needed.
  • Complete daily checklists and pool readings as instructed.
  • Take chemical readings on a one-hour cycle or as noted on the pool log. Bring any unusual readings or conditions to the attention of the director.
  • Help instructors with equipment and assist them during classes.
  • Maintain eye contact with all swimmers.
  • Be on deck at all times.
  • Report all needed repairs to supervisor.
  • Must attend staff training.
  • Attend member service training.

 

Performance Expectations:

  • Greet everyone by name in a friendly manner.
  • No non-work-related reading materials are allowed.
  • Be willing to substitute for fellow team members and secure substitutes for working hours when you are unable to work.
  • Report all member service conditions to the Aquatic Director or Assistant Aquatic Director.
  • Abide by all Center and Aquatic policies and procedures at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service to JCC members, guests, and staff by adhering to the JCC Employee Code of Conduct and Staff Code of Caring.

 

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to swim a minimum of 300 yards continuously at all times.
  • Must be able to perform any rescue skill required by certifying organization.

Position Overview:

The principal duties of the Assistant Teacher include collaborating with the Head Teacher to develop weekly curricular plans; cooperating with the home base team to implement and evaluate classroom activities; overseeing the physical well-being of the children; maintenance of the classroom, classroom materials, and equipment; and contributing to the overall operation of the Early Childhood Program.

J Club | School-Age Child Care : Assistant Classroom Leader

Part-Time: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM; 29 Hours per Week; Days and Time are Flexible

Position Overview:

Provide care and guidance for children ages 6 to 12. Work collaboratively with the childcare team to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which all children feel welcomed and secure.

Yoga Instructor

The Group Fitness Instructor will lead members, in a group environment, through a pre-arranged format of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength, and endurance, while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised.

We’re seeking a Yoga Instructor to lead our fitness classes. As our new Yoga instructor you must be:
• Enthusiastic about group exercise classes and enjoy creating and delivering new, fresh, and innovative routines
• Confident in your professionalism by reporting on time with a positive attitude and a passion to motivate others
• A professional who is collaborative and a flexible leader in and out of the studio

FACILITIES

Evening Housekeeping Supervisor

Overview: The Evening Housekeeper Supervisor oversees all evening maintenance/housekeeping personnel in the completion of their delegated responsibilities to ensure that the entire building is clean and ready to be re-opened each morning. As a working supervisor, the employee is expected to conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism.


Hours: Monday- Thursday 4pm- 12:30am, Friday 2:30pm- 11pm


Responsibilities:

  • Care and maintenance of cleaning equipment; i.e. vacuum cleaners and other cleaning machines.
  • Physically check every door, set alarm system, and ensure the building is secure.
  • Take care of minor maintenance repairs.
  • Keep account and inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Ensure that all rentals are set up in a timely manner to allow ample time for renters.
  • Cleaning and upkeep of the JCC and TBI facilities.
  • Refuse removal.
  • Delegation of detailed cleaning of JCC and TBI facilities.
  • Set-up and teardowns of tables and chairs.
  • Steam cleaning and hard floor care.
  • Assist in training, hiring, firing & disciplinary actions.
  • Assist in department development.
  • Use of proper safety equipment.

Part-Time Housekeeping (Gan Rimon)

Overview: The Gan Rimon Housekeeping I position is a motivated individual who takes pride in cleanliness and customer service. The Gan Rimon Housekeeping I position is responsible for completing tasks, cleaning and upkeep of the Gan Rimon Daycare facility in Jacobus, to ensure the entire building is clean and ready to be reopened each morning. The position would offer free child care during the day at our Gan Rimon facility in Jacobus.

Hours: Monday- Friday 5:30pm- 10:30pm
