In 1993, I started volunteering in preschool and working in the summer camp program at the York JCC. I then continued my work at the J while finishing a BA degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University. In 1995, I joined the early childhood child care program and continued my educational journey by obtaining a Master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum in 2007 as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education from Northcentral University in 2013. I have worked with infants through school-age children and also teach early childhood education courses at Penn State York Campus. Many of my students now work for the York JCC. I am a certified CPR and First Aid instructor for the American Heart Association and a PA PQAS instructor for educators.
I have had the privilege to educate hundreds of children, families, and educators over my tenure. The York JCC is a place to inspire young learners, a place of wellness, a place of safety, and a place to call home-away-from-home. I am very grateful and blessed to work with many amazing people.
