EVENT FULL: The Path to Freedom: A Shabbat Seder to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Liberation

April 11, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

FREE!

4/1 Update: THIS EVENT IS FULL AND IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS.

We invite you to a meaningful evening of reflection and connection, featuring thoughtful speakers and a festive meal that will include elements of both a Shabbat dinner and Passover Seder. This program will focus on themes of freedom, resilience, and hope, through the lens of the Holocaust and Liberation.

An exhibit of historical artifacts on loan from the WWII American Experience Museum in Gettysburg featuring a concentration camp uniform, armbands, and civilian dress will be on display in the JCC lobby from 4 to 6 PM, offering a powerful glimpse into the past.

We will further commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Liberation by collecting toothbrushes and toothpaste for those in need through the York JCC’s Project Manna Food Pantry. This drive honors Holocaust victims and survivors while promoting dignity and humanity, guided by the Jewish value of kavod ha’briyot (honoring human dignity). Your contribution will help provide essential hygiene items, turning remembrance into meaningful action.

This event is free and open to all ages and faiths. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.

For questions, please contact Adriel Resh, Director of Jewish Life and Culture, at aresh@yorkjcc.org.
