What is Yom HaShoah?
Yom HaShoah is the internationally observed Holocaust Remembrance Day. The name comes from the Hebrew word Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.” It is a day set aside to honor the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others murdered by the Nazi regime. Beyond mourning, it is a day for communities of all faiths and backgrounds to come together, learn from history, and reaffirm a collective commitment to standing against hatred and prejudice in all forms today.
